This would depend on the area being covered.

The GO10 is capable of covering an area of up to 2000 ft2 while the GO12 is capable of covering an area of up to 3000 ft2.

Using a GO12 in an area less than 3000 ftwill provide you with optimal coverage at a higher volume (SPL) than the GO10.

The goal is to have even coverage.

Start by calculating the total square footage of the area and then divide that by either 2000 or 3000 depending on the size of sub being used.

This will provide you with a rough estimate on how many subwoofers you will require.

Please note that as with all speakers if you wish to have a higher overall volume, divide the area to be covered by a figure less than 2000 or 3000.

Example 1:

Area to be covered 4000 ft2.

4000 ft2 ÷ 2000 ft2/sub (GO10) = 2

For an area spanning 4000 ftyou would require 2 GO10s.

Using 2 GO12s would be perfectly fine as you would have the same coverage with higher volume capabilities.

Example 2a:

Area to be covered 6000 ft2.

6000 ft2 ÷ 2000 ft2/sub (GO10) = 3

For an area spanning 6000 ftyou would require 3 GO10s.

Example 2b:

Area to be covered 6000 ft2.

6000 ft2 ÷ 3000 ft2/sub (GO12) = 2

For an area spanning 6000 ftyou would require 2 GO12s.
